A fancy bindi

A bindi is that tiny dot you often see on the foreheads of Indian women which signifies their marital status. This simple ornament has actually found a market in recent years as a new generation of women have begun to approach them not just as a symbol of marriage, but as a fashion accessory as well. The tiny specks have evolved into elaborate designs, often using ethnic Indian images like peacocks and flowers. These designs are available online, in stores, and in boutiques. The styles have changed, but the tradition still maintains.
